My sis-in-law gave me a strip of magnet and a piece of metal. She said she uses one just like it to read crochet patterns. (also great on cross-stitch and knitting) You place the metal sheet behind the pattern page and the magnetic strip goes in the front. Just slide the guide down as you complete a row of directions.
Super easy to use. I decided to decorate my magnetic stip with ribbon and found, in my stash, some ribbon with ruler/inch measurements. Added a loop of ribbon to the hole that was already on the strip for easy removal. Also added a loop to the hole in the metal sheet to hang both items on my corkboard.
