First Place Winner

This jacket was made from a pair of recycled jeans.

This was my favorite entry. The stars are called Folded Stars. I love the concept and fell in love with the jacket when the quilter registered her jacket right before I registered mine. I knew then I should just take my jacket home and not enter it, as hers was indeed a first place winner. I predicted correctly.
This contest was by votes, not judged.
But she still would have won.

Dry Homemade laundry detergent

Made some powdered soap for hubby's extra dirty work clothes.

2 cups grated soap bar.
1 cup borax
1 cup washing soda

I used my micro plane and it only took half a bar to make the 2 cups of soap .
Use 1-2 tablespoons per load.

Arrowhead Block

Learned how to make this block at the RGV Quilt Show class and taught it to fellow quilter's. One begged to sew up the sample block and then made her own red one. Awesome!!
